These Shaft Feeders are capable to handle rolls up to 250 kg with a max. roll diameter of 60 cm. Optionally available is a pneumatic shaft for easy roll change instead of cones. Furthermore, the feeder can be provided with a pneumatic brake and electric driven reverse system, an unwinding unit for paper and/or foils, a pneumatic controlled nip roller and even a secondary integrated cradle or shaft feeder to quickly load small rolls up to 50 kg.
ASCO heavy-duty feeders are designed to customers’ specifications and are capable of unwinding virtually all fabrics, foils and technical textiles without creases and feed them to cutters. Depending on the situation, the feeder can either feed the materials nearly tension free, or with adjustable fabric tension.
Similar to the cradle unwinder, but is standard equipped with a driven feeding system and edge control to ensure very low fabric tension and square feeding. The cradle feeder is especially useful when roll changes occur frequently.
The basic shaft feeder consists of an unwinding shaft with adjustable brake, which is mounted on light rolling bearings. The addition of an edge control system allows you to pull material from the unwinder with the material edge remaining on the same line, and with tension as set on the brake.
The electric driven winding up units for technical textiles up to 500 cm are designed according customers’ specifications and can be used to wind up fabrics, foils and technical textiles. The winder is equipped with a pneumatic controlled expansion shaft prepared for the diameter of the cardboard tube, a pneumatic controlled dancer arm for adjustment of the winding up tension and a safety chuck for easy change of the winding up shaft. As an option the winder can be equipped with wheels and a docking station.
To feed elastic or unstable fabrics to a cutter requires special care. To ensure the textiles do not distort during unwinding, the ASCO loop-controlled feeder uses a driven unwinding shaft with loop control. This allows the material to be delivered directly to the cutter with minimal fabric tension and without deformation. This feeder is especially suitable for delicate textiles such as delicately woven glass-fiber cloth, knitted fabrics, or carbon fiber materials that are dimensionally unstable.
The Shaft Driven Feeders enable the operator to feed the material directly from the driven shaft without making use of a driven drum. Thanks to an analogue controlled dancer arm it is possible to adjust the tension on the material.
